Training program questions: We recommend that everyone view our following webinar on How Training Academies Can Implement TIC Training:

Then review the following standards:

  • NFPA 1010 Chapter 7 which requires all new firefighters to have requisite knowledge of TICs and complete three skill sets in hands on evolutions.
  • NFPA 1408 Thermal Imaging Training & Maintenance Standard-See Chapter 7 for the 23 recommended topics for annual TIC training.
  • NFPA 1801: The Thermal Imaging Standard for Thermal Imaging Cameras-This standard provides the required knowledge for thermal imaging instructors to possess.

We also recommend completing our online collegiate thermal imaging certification through WKU. It is the only collegiate thermal imaging certification for firefighters in the world.
