City of Dallas Fire & Rescue Texas Thermal Imaging Training
Description: Insight Training LLC will provide six identical (8) hour days of customized classroom hybrid training on Dallas Fire-Rescues model of thermal imaging camera: The FLIR K33 from April 4th through April 9th.
The course format will consist of 3 hours of customized classroom presentation in the morning session covering the following concepts:
- Understanding Firefighter PPE
- The Key Attributes of Thermal Imaging
- Thermal Imaging Contraindications, Limitations, & Considerations.
This will be followed by a live fire demonstration provided by Insight Training Instructors with the Max Fire Box. Participants will see the concepts they learned in the classroom demonstrated in an environment where the concepts can be repeated and explained.
The afternoon session will consist of the following format:
- 2.5 hours of classroom training: This portion will focus on fire ground applications and how these applications/tasks can be enhanced by the implementation of tactical thermal imaging.
Live Fire Demonstration: Participants will then be provided a live fire demonstration with Palmer Style Doll Houses where the concepts in the classroom will be demonstrated, observed, and repeated for a more thorough understanding of how these concepts will benefit them in their daily calls for service.
